Growing!

Here we are in week 13 and my coworker noticed my baby bump! Uh oh...it looks I am carrying low to me, but I know everything will change. Today, we heard the heartbeat...sounded very neat! Very strong! 150 beats a minute. My heart beat sounded so old and slow compared to it. Oh no, and my coworker just told me when she was giving birth to one of her 4 children, her heart stopped and she died. Had an out of body experience, saw the whole thing, and came back. Crazy! I know women still die during childbirth. Another lady I know also told me about a lady she knows here at work, her daughter died during childbirth too. Great! Way to scare me!

Actually, I am not scared, just aware.

We should find out the sex of the baby July 8th, after that date...it is shopping time! Oh boy! or Girl!

Getting the word out

     Well little one, most of the family knows. Now, we are just waiting on the mail. By the weeks end you won't be a secret anymore. Some of your loved ones teared up with happiness when I shared the news in person. I shared our surprise on Mother's day to my mom. I think it was timed pretty well. Next week is our appointment for the integrated screening. This test is to check for abnormalities like down syndrome. We are doing the screen because if there is a chance things are different, we as parents want to be mentally prepared for you. Either way, we will love you no different. You will always be so special to us. This thing called pregnancy sure tests patients when it comes to waiting. However, after walking your cousin Londyn around the zoo, I realized how important patience is with young children. After all, it is nice when you don't have to be in a rush these days.
     For now, I still feel like you are growing because if I don't eat every two hours I feel starved and nauseated, which is a good sign. Until next time...happy growing baby.

Good News!

Hello baby. We have now had three ultrasounds to make sure you are doing okay. Most women don't even have one ultrasound until past 8 weeks. We have been growing now for 9 weeks. Your due date is December 3rd, 2013. This date is a guess, but a very strange date for anniversaries in my life. I am guessing you will be a week late like I was. We have a picture of you. I can see your tiny little arms and legs and your head. Your dad and I are soooo excited to bring you into our life!! We pray for you to be healthy! Pregnancy symptoms are here little one. Dr. McFadden, she rocks by the way, said your heartbeat looked to be in the 150s, not slow at all and that you were growing right along schedule. Hearing the great news helped us relax a little bit. Glad you and I are hanging in there.

Butterflys

Butterflies surround you baby. We wait to hear more about you in the next week. It will be the second ultrasound to hear your beating little heart. Last time, it truly flickered like a star does in the night's sky. Your dad held my hand. He has always been there for me, and he will always be there for you. So, we wait. I, your mother am 6 weeks along with caring you. We wonder if you will be a boy or a girl, but we just hope to God you are healthy, and we know God wants us to have children. So, it is all in his good time. So, until Monday...we wait.
